Wendy's Wednesday Web

Wow, I feel like I just wrote this yesterday.....but its been 7 days and I've had a cold during that time! My summer cold, the one that builds me up for the rest of the year. But enough about me! Let's see what's happening webwise this week!

1. Sara at Soft Flex Girl is on Day 2 of her Seven Days of Inspiration posts! I've already seen something I never would have thought of on my own! Thanks Sara!

2. The Crafty Gardener made me hungry! I also learned something that I am definitely doing in my container garden next season! Yummy! What a great idea!

3. In another attempt to get me quilting, Austen at Make+Do blog talks about 'quilt-alongs'. I could do that.....!

4. Jamie has a great post on Things to Avoid When Blogging in 2 parts. I'm almost scared to read it!

5. My darling friend, Juana, of the Cat Who Fishes blog, is back from her holidays in the Italian countryside and she has lots to do now that she's home again! I missed Juana but Flat Juana and Flat Wendy decided to stay in Canada for the summer to keep me company and will spend the fall in Italy!

6. It's all trial and error when it comes to working with bronze metal clay and Jen of BeadFX takes us through her experiments. Fascinating results!

7. Margot is Down Under!

8. Tammy Powley has a great post about blogging and references She's Batty (see #4, Jamie) and HandMadeNews.org!

9. Beth, of Indie North, has nothing to say about Radiant Red!

10. That's Pretty and Jewellery n Herbs both had crazy weeks and live in Peterborough, so here they are: 2 4 1!

And that's that for another WWW!

What are you doing this week?

Where's Wendy?

Big Sigh. I have just been sucked in and spit out by Twitter! That's right. I joined a few months back and I really didn't get it. 140 characters to express myself was fun, sure, but nobody was listening. It seemed self indulgent and ultimately, boring. And then I started clicking. Ah, there's one of my favourite crafting authors in the world! Click. Now I'm following Margot Potter, the Impatient Crafter, my heroine! Click. Following Claudine Hellmuth, Collage Discovery Workshop. Heroine. Click. Following Tammy Powley, About Jewlery Making. Heroine. How cool! I was listening to their tweets and following their cool links and finding all sorts of new things about things I already loved. And then it happened! Claudine Hellmuth clicked on me! And then Margot Potter did. And then Tammy Powley! Aye carumba, the Crafty Chica! And then other crafting heroines and heroes! Occasionally, I would ask them a 140 character question. And they, graciously, they would answer me! I love Twitter! So much so that I switched my homepage to it from Facebook! Twitter has opened up opportunities for me that I never imagined! Have you tried Twitter yet? It's a bit tricky at first. Let me know! I would be happy to answer any questions! Follow me at wendytgibson/twitter! Click!

ArtFire!

ArtFire - Buy Handmade - Sell HandmadeWhat with the new gallery downtown buying my jewellery, and jewellery home parties being booked, I finally have enough things made that I can sell. BUT, I don't have a credit card and so was unable to sign up for Etsy. Now it gets interesting. My friend Rietta, (of the feathered hat) is moving back to B.C. and bequeathed magazines and beady things to me this past week. Lo and behold, a Bead and Button mag from last fall had a full page ad about...ArtFire.com.

I love it! I did a bit of research, (naturally) and found these posts (among many) about ArtFire. (Don't you love the name?)
